RODENT CONTROL

Mice and rats can cause considerable damage. They also spread disease and are known to carry salmonella and leptospirosis.

WHY ARE RODENTS IN MY PROPERTY?

Mice and rats will move indoors due to weather getting colder but they will also enter property  at other times of the year in search of food. Mice can fit through a gap the diameter of a biro pen! If there are nesting and feeding opportunities then mice and rats will happily live in any type of property. The incisors of all rodents are constantly growing. Rodents need to chew on any substance to prevent their teeth growing further, because of this if there is a rodent in your property they will chew through wires and any other substance that they can access. Before using any lethal methods to eliminate mice or rats the removal of feeding and nesting opportunities is the first thing that should be done. If feeding and nesting opportunities are removed then there is no reason for the rodents to be present it will also make any treatment more likely to be successful.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?

  1. FIRST VISIT A full inspection of the property will take place to establish where the rodents are present and to advise you on what actions you need to be taking. This will involve cleaning and housekeeping to eliminate feeding and nesting opportunities. We will also carry out a full proofing inspection and advise what proofing you will need to carry out to prevent further entry into the property.

  2. Placement of rodenticide bait stations will be carried out. All bait stations are tamper proof to prevent children or pets gaining access. It is critically important for the treatment to be successful that all bait stations and traps are not moved or touched.

  3. It may take two or three takes from the bait before the rodenticide will take effect.

  4. The SECOND VISIT will take place approximately two weeks after the first. Any bait that has been taken will be replaced. Also, all proofing, cleaning and housekeeping recommendations will be reviewed.

  5. The THIRD VISIT will take place approximately four weeks after the second. A final inspection of the property will take place and all the bait stations will be removed.
