COCKROACH CONTROL

German and oriental cockroaches are the most common species found in the UK. Cockroaches can carry salmonella and quick treatment is key in eliminating the problem.
BEFORE TREATMENT
Cockroaches will feed on any organic matter. As long as it is warm enough and there are feeding opportunities they will breed and continue to multiply. Cleaning the areas where the cockroaches are present is key to solving the problem as this will remove feeding opportunities. Cockroaches will move into a property either on infested food, in bags or from a neighbouring property.
TREATMENT
Treatment will either be an insecticide residual spray or a growth hormone regulating gel. The choice of treatment will depend on the circumstances. If a residual spray is used any occupants will need to vacate the property for three hours. Any fish tanks and any other pets must be removed from the room/property during treatment and remain out for three hours afterwards. No cleaning of the areas sprayed can be done for the first two weeks after the spray. This is so that the cockroaches can come in contact with the insecticide.
AFTER TREATMENT
A second visit will be carried out two weeks after the first. Further application of insecticide will be carried out depending on the level of infestation. A review of cleaning and housekeeping will also be carried out.
