Ants

ANT CONTROL

Black ants will commonly be found nesting under patios and brick work externally. If you find black ants in your home it will normally be ants foraging from a nest outside. Black ants build their nest through the summer. Once the queens and males have their wings and the weather conditions are right a mass emergence of winged ants will occur. They will mate on the wing and then the queens will land, lose their wings and disperse to find new nests.

BEFORE TREATMENT

If black ants are in your home it will be because they are being attracted in by food. It is essential for the treatment that all areas are kept as clean as possible and any feeding opportunities are removed.

TREATMENT

The ants will be treated with an insecticidal spray or gel depending on the circumstances. The most effective way of treating an ant problem is by spraying the nest. If the nest can be found then it will be sprayed but we will also treat areas where the ants are being seen.

AFTER TREATMENT

Immediately after the treatment you may still see ants. It can take up to seven days for the nest to be destroyed. If any internal areas are sprayed please do not clean these areas for at least seven days after the treatment. This will allow the ants to come into contact with the insecticide.
